For over 30 years, Dutch design duo Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren referred to as Viktor&Rolf have blurred the road between style and artwork, creating avant-garde couture that feels as conceptual as it’s masterfully crafted. Usually calling themselves “style artists,” the pair are celebrated for his or her technical brilliance, provocative storytelling, and deep style information.
Now on view on the Excessive Museum of Artwork, this marks the primary U.S. exhibition devoted to Viktor&Rolf and options over 100 daring seems alongside sketches, movies, and archival items that reveal their inventive course of. From dramatic, performance-driven runway moments to slogan-covered tulle robes and gravity-defying silhouettes, the craftsmanship is breathtaking. I used to be fully blown away particularly by the satin, PVC, and Swarovski crystal floral gown and the romantic corseted tulle robes.
