“We’d like a brand new path ahead, a path per the legislation that protects range and expands alternative. What I suggest for consideration is a brand new commonplace the place faculties take note of the adversity a pupil has overcome when choosing amongst certified candidates,” stated Biden. “Let’s be clear, underneath this new commonplace– because it was true underneath the sooner commonplace–college students first need to be certified candidates. As soon as that take a look at is met, then range ought to be thought-about, together with a pupil’s lack of economic means, as a result of we all know too few college students of low-income households, whether or not they’re in massive cities or rural communities, are getting a possibility to go to varsity.”
