Six Mississippi Deputies Fired After Being Accused Of Torture and Sexual Assault By Two Black Men

A number of Mississippi deputies had been fired after being accused of torturing two Black males throughout a drug raid in January 2023, stories ABC Information.

This announcement comes after Michael Corey Jenkins and Eddie Terrell Parker filed a $400 Million lawsuit in collaboration with Black Legal professionals for Justice towards the Rankin County sheriff’s division.

“We perceive that the alleged actions of those deputies has eroded the general public’s belief in our division,” Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey mentioned in a press release on Tuesday. “Relaxation assured that we’ll work diligently to revive that belief.”

Though Bailey didn’t establish the deputies concerned within the case, Hunter Elward, Brett Mc’Alpin, Christian Dedmon together with three different unidentified Mississippi deputies listed as “John Doe” are allegedly accountable. Sheriff Bailey can also be named as a defendant within the lawsuit.

“We’ve cooperated with all investigation efforts associated to this incident and have supplied all info and information requested in a well timed method,” Bailey added. “It will proceed till all investigative efforts are full and justice is served. In accordance with the lawsuit, Rankin County deputies entered the residence of Jenkins and Parker with no warrant. Jenkins, Parker, and their lawyer Malik Shabazz are urgent for the deputies to be indicted on legal expenses for his or her position within the horrific incident by Mississippi lawyer common Lynn Fitch.
