Described as mixing “Enola Holmes” with Agatha Christie, “Homicide Most Unladylike” is a twisty homicide thriller sequence set within the Nineteen Thirties centered round two rebellious teen feminine detectives residing collectively at boarding college.

The sequence relies on the multi-million copy best-selling books, initially printed by Puffin (an imprint of Penguin Random Home Youngsters’s) within the U.Okay. and by Simon & Schuster Books For Younger Readers within the USA. With 12 books in the principle sequence, along with a three-book spin-off sequence, it has been translated into 21 languages, promoting over 3.1 million copies globally.

“It has all the time been my dream to convey Hazel and Daisy and their world to life on display screen, and I can’t consider higher companions to make that dream a actuality. Sturdy Movie & TV have an unimaginable crime pedigree, and Studiocanal are the caretakers of beloved household IP like Paddington and Miffy,” mentioned Stevens. “I’m so proud to be working with them, and with award-winning author Anna McCleery – there’s a lot private ardour throughout the workforce, and I do know that collectively we’re going to create a model of ‘Homicide Most Unladylike’ that may each delight followers and introduce my tales to an enormous new viewers.”

Director Sturdy’s Sturdy Movie + Tv will EP alongside Matt Tombs and Loretta Preece. Studiocanal invested within the firm in 2023. The sequence marks the the primary growth below Stevens’ newly fashioned movie and tv manufacturing banner Unladylike Productions.

“We’re delighted to be working with the exceptionally gifted Robin Stevens, Anna McCleery and the Sturdy Movie + Tv workforce to convey ‘Homicide Most Unladylike’ to life,” mentioned M-Okay Kennedy, managing director of Studiocanal Tv. “The books are a uncommon and thrilling mix of twisty Agatha Christie-style whodunnits, feminine empowerment, and shiny aspirational settings; all centred round a wealthy and loveable depiction of feminine friendship. The lead characters Daisy and Hazel are a duo worthy of Watson & Holmes stature, beloved by hundreds of thousands of followers the world over for his or her independence, curiosity and depraved sense of humour.”

Studiocanal Youngsters & Household will deal with worldwide merchandising and licensing.
