“The Twelve,” an award-winning Australian crime drama collection, has been greenlighted for a second season. It’s backed by the Foxtel group and its streaming model Binge.

The present follows a controversial homicide trial seen via the lens of the jurors, twelve atypical Australians who’re going through their very own realities and struggles.

The primary season obtained ten nominations, and gained three AACTA Awards in 2022 together with greatest miniseries. In current days, it grew to become probably the most nominated drama collection on the 63rd TV Week Logie Awards.

Season two of “The Twelve” can be eight 1-hour episodes written by Sarah Walker, Anchuli Felicia King, Anya Beyersdorf and Anna Barnes. Native authorities in Western Australia described it because the state’s “biggest-ever display screen manufacturing,” however divulged no specifics on finances. Filming will happen within the Wheatbelt and Metropolitan areas and create over 100 native jobs, the state authorities mentioned.

The collection can be setup directed by Western Australian director Stevie Cruz-Martin (“Protected House,” “The Tailings”) alongside one other Western Australian director, Ben Younger (“Hounds of Love,” “Clickbait”) and Mark Joffe (“Jack Irish”). The collection can be produced by Hamish Lewis and Michael Brooks for Warner Bros. Worldwide Manufacturing Australia and Ian Collie, Ally Henville and Rob Gibson for Simple Tiger. It can make use of West Australia’s location manufacturing incentive scheme, administered via display screen company Screenwest.

“The Twelve” is commissioned by Brian Walsh (the Foxtel Group) for Binge and Foxtel. The commissioning editor is Lana Greenhalgh and consulting producer is Penny Win (the Foxtel Group). The collection can be produced by Warner Bros. Worldwide Manufacturing Australia and Simple Tiger with main manufacturing funding from Screenwest and the Western Australian Manufacturing Attraction Incentive and can be distributed globally by Fifth Season. ‘The Twelve’ season two will even be accessible to look at on Fox Showcase and stream on demand on Foxtel.

“Attractive a high-caliber, premium collection like ‘The Twelve’ to movie in Western Australia is an unbelievable end result following the launch of the WA Manufacturing Attraction Incentive final 12 months,” mentioned David Templeman, the state’s Minister for Tradition and the Arts. “ ‘The Twelve’ would be the biggest-ever manufacturing to happen in Western Australia [..] We stay up for welcoming extra initiatives like this to WA. We’ve got implausible native expertise, breath-taking areas and incentives on supply – Western Australia is open for enterprise.”
