Warner Music India Partners With Renzu Music

Warner Music India has inked a distribution settlement with Renzu Music, offering the Kashmir-focused unbiased label with entry to one of many nation’s main music distribution networks.

The partnership represents a significant breakthrough for the Srinagar-based operation, which has constructed its popularity round discovering and growing expertise from the Kashmir Valley. Below the management of filmmaker Danish Renzu, the label has carved out a distinct segment by combining music curation with cinematic storytelling by way of music movies.

Warner’s distribution muscle will now assist a roster that spans each established and rising voices. The expertise pipeline contains Zahra Banoo, Noor Mohammad, Hyder Dar, Adam, Saqib Wani, Shivani Matyal, Bilal Tantray, Afaq Dar, Kafil Qureshie, Tasneef Bukhari, and Masrat Un Nissa.

A number of high-profile fusion tasks anchor the label’s present slate. Folks legend Noor Mohammad seems on a number of tracks, collaborating with Rashmeet Kaur on “Ranjha” and with Shikha Joshi on “Maryo.” IP Singh rounds out the featured releases with “Chingari.”

“Our aim was to deliver music from Kashmir to a bigger viewers and create a bridge between Kashmir and the remainder of the world,” stated Danish Renzu. “The distribution partnership with Warner does precisely that—it helps the sounds of Kashmir journey throughout the globe. I’m grateful to Vaibhav [Nagpal, head of partner relations, acquisition and distribution at Warner Music India] for placing his religion in us and excited to see the place this journey takes us. Now we have some thrilling tasks lined as much as share with the world.”

The deal has attracted endorsements from leisure trade figures who see cultural significance within the partnership. Actor Saba Azad famous the broader implications: “Kashmir is commonly within the information however there’s little to nothing of its tradition that makes it to the mainstream. I’m delighted Danish is bringing the music of the folks of Kashmir to mainstream India and the world and that Warner has put their religion in his efforts.”

For the artists concerned, the collaboration represents a chance to mix conventional and modern approaches. Shikha Joshi mirrored on her expertise: “Creating an Indian fusion that blended Kashmiri people with modern components was so enriching. It was beautiful working alongside naturally gifted artists like Noor Mohammad ji whose genuine people texture gave a very distinctive sound.”

Actor Udit Arora, identified for Netflix’s “The Royals” and a collaborator on one of many label’s Kashmiri tracks, emphasised the timing: “Music from Kashmir is gorgeous and I’m glad that lastly this music is getting its well-deserved platform. We need to deal with extra success tales from the valley. It’s time.”
