HBO Denies Cancellation of ‘The Idol’ After Season One

*HBO issued a response to stories that the brand new sequence “The Idol“ will conclude after season one because of the criticism in regards to the graphic intercourse scenes. 

“It’s being misreported {that a} choice on a second season of The Idol has been decided,” HBO tweeted Thursday, Complicated stories. “It has not, and we stay up for sharing the following episode with you Sunday night time.”

In the meantime, we reported beforehand that followers of the Weeknd have blended reactions to his wild intercourse scene with Lily-Rose Depp in Sunday’s episode.  The second noticed the singer, who now goes by his authorities identify Abel Tesfaye, telling the actress’ character to “f–kin’ stretch that tiny little p—y” — and apparently some followers are appalled, Web page Six stories.

There are additionally stories that one deleted scene concerned Deep snorting coke off the singer’s manhood. 

 

HBO responded to rumors about “The Idol’s cancellation hours after Web page Six revealed an article titled: “Destiny of ‘The Idol’ up within the air amid criticism of The Weeknd’s ‘egomaniacal’ habits.” 

In the meantime, a supply confirmed that the Weeknd is not going to return for a sophomore season.

“This was by no means meant to be a long-running present, it was at all times … a restricted sequence,” one insider defined, per Web page Six. 

Co-created by Sam Levinson (HBO’s “Euphoria”), “The Idol” facilities on doomed pop star Jocelyn (Depp) who suffers a nervous breakdown that derails her final tour, so she is “decided to assert her rightful standing as the best and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros (the Weekend), a nightclub impresario with a sordid previous. Will her romantic awakening take her to superb new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?” per the synopsis.

An HBO supply stated the “door is unquestionably nonetheless open” for an additional season.

“… it’s positively not a choice [yet],” the insider added, Complicated stories. “At this level, that is regular in our course of … we’re solely two episodes in.”
