Rev. Addison highlights Juneteenth’s healing power

Consultants say Juneteenth, which is well known on June 19, can present generational therapeutic for Black Individuals.

“Juneteenth gives Black Individuals with a culturally sanctioned area to acknowledge the depth of generational trauma whereas concurrently celebrating survival and resilience,” stated Rev. Dr. A’Shellarien Addison, CEO of Desakajo’s Flo and an Military Chaplain. “This twin nature—mourning and celebration—mirrors the complicated emotional panorama that many Black households navigate each day.”
