Akida Diaba Dudley Accused Of Sexually Assaulting 3 Women

The crimes came about on June 9, 1997, Sept. 22, 1997, and Aug. 9, 2004

A Detroit man has been arrested in reference to three sexual assault instances that came about as early as 1997.

In accordance with The Detroit Information, law enforcement officials arrested and charged Akida Diaba Dudley after accusing him of sexually assaulting three ladies between 1997 and 2004. The 51-year-old man was arraigned within the thirty sixth District Courtroom in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Workplace mentioned. He’ll stay in jail till his subsequent courtroom listening to, scheduled for April 28, as he was remanded to jail with out bond. 

He has been charged with three counts of first-degree legal sexual conduct and three counts of third-degree legal sexual conduct. If convicted, he could face a jail sentence of as much as life in jail for every of the first-degree legal sexual conduct prices and as much as 15 years for every cost of third-degree legal sexual conduct.

The case was dealt with by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Workplace Sexual Assault Package Activity Drive, and he’s suspected of assaulting the ladies on three separate events: June 9, 1997, Sept. 22, 1997, and Aug. 9, 2004.

“The sexual assault kits in these instances are from the kits present in a Detroit Police Division proof storage facility in 2009,” Kim L. Worthy mentioned in a written assertion. “As of August 2025, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Workplace could have been constantly doing this work for 16 years. We help our brave survivors who’re keen to come back ahead and prosecute these instances after ready for thus lengthy for justice.”

The primary sufferer, who was 30 years previous on the time, was attacked whereas she was at a bus cease close to Grand River and West Warren Avenue. She was allegedly compelled right into a car by the suspect.

The second sufferer was a 16-year-old lady who was standing at a bus cease on the nook of Livernois and Fenkell when she was picked up by the suspect, pondering she had seen up at a motorbike membership.
