97-Year-Old Black Woman Froze to Death, Her Daughter Allegedly Intentionally Left Her in the Cold

Nationwide — The dying of 97-year-old Corrye Brewer, an African American lady from El Paso County, Colorado lady who succumbed to hypothermia in January, has been formally dominated a murder by the Coroner’s Workplace. Brewer, who had cognitive impairments and required day by day medicine, went lacking after final being seen on January 24 in Peyton, Colorado. Her physique was found days later outdoors an deserted house, uncovered to frigid temperatures.

In response to Fox 8 Information, authorities allege that Brewer was deliberately left outdoors an unoccupied property on Decide Orr Street in Calhan by a member of the family—reportedly her daughter—with no mobile phone, her walker, or any technique of returning house or calling for assist. That night time, temperatures dropped as little as 16 levels and snow was falling, creating harmful circumstances for anybody left outdoors.

In response to the coroner’s findings, Brewer was left with no entry to shelter or help, and this act of neglect immediately led to her dying from hypothermia. She was found mendacity on the bottom on the similar location the place she had allegedly been deserted.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation confirmed that Brewer had suffered from memory-related cognitive points, which made her notably susceptible. Brewer’s grandson later informed CBS Information that he believes somebody needs to be held answerable for her tragic dying. “Any individual must be held accountable,” he stated. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Workplace has said that the case stays below energetic investigation and has declined additional remark right now.
