Bette Braxton Shares Memories of Being on the Road with Roberta Flack  – Los Angeles Sentinel

The current passing of the legendary Roberta Flack evoked nice recollections from Los Angeles resident Bette Braxton, who served a few years as highway supervisor for the proficient performer identified worldwide for the numerous classics together with “The First Time Ever I Noticed Your Face,” “Killing Me Softly,” and “The place Is the Love.”

In keeping with Braxton, her time with the musical prodigy was full of enjoyable and pleasure together with exhausting work and surprises.

“Once we went to select it up, Muhammad Ali was on the set,” Braxton recalled. “When he noticed Roberta, he grabbed her and took her again on the set and mentioned, ‘That is the best singer on the earth!’”

One other outstanding incident passed off after Braxton missed Aleta’s highschool commencement as a result of she was in Switzerland with Flack.

Supporting her mom’s choice to journey with Flack, Aleta mentioned on the time, “Oh mother, you’re solely going to say [at the graduation], ‘Yay! She made it! So, go to Switzerland.”

When Braxton instructed Flack about her daughter’s response, Flack mentioned, “I’m going to do one thing particular for her.”  One thing particular turned out to be a 6’4” Steinway piano that was delivered with a purple ribbon on it.
