‘The Splendour of Life,’ Starring Camille Rutherford, Acquired by H264

H264, a Montreal-based movie distribution and worldwide gross sales firm, has acquired the world gross sales and Canadian distribution rights for Marianne Métivier‘s first function movie “The Splendour of Life.”

The movie stars Camille Rutherford (“Anatomy of a Fall”), Garance Marillier (“Uncooked”), Amaryllis Tremblay (“Genèse”) and Kyrie Samodio (“Hito”). It follows two narrative threads, one within the countryside and one within the metropolis. 4 girls’s lives are remodeled by an encounter and select to shut or open a brand new chapter of their lives. The movie is “a sensual invitation to reside life to the fullest,” in keeping with a press release.

The movie is produced by Geneviève Gosselin-G. at Le Lobby Movies in Canada, and government produced by Wilfredo Manalang at Fusee within the Philippines, and affiliate produced by Alexa Rivero at Altamar Movies in France.

Métivier is a Québécoise-Filippina author and director from Montreal. Her brief movie “She Who Wears the Rain” (2019) was chosen on the Berlinale Shorts Competitors in 2020. She is growing her first documentary “Again Residence,” for which she obtained a improvement grant on the Expertise Lab of the Montreal Intl. Documentary Pageant in 2020. “The Splendour of Life” was chosen by Torino Function Lab in 2023.

Her work “primarily explores the sense of belonging to locations and our relationship to the intangible,” in keeping with a press release.

Jean-Christophe J. Lamontagne and Stephanie Demers, co-presidents at H264, stated, “After the success of Marianne Métivier’s brief movie ‘She Who Wears the Rain’ at Berlin Shorts 2020, we’re thrilled to collaborate along with her once more. We imagine ‘The Splendour of Life’ will depart a major mark on the business.”

Gosselin-G acknowledged: “This partnership underscores our shared dedication to selling distinctive and impressive cinematic initiatives. We imagine that H264 is the proper associate to hold ahead and produce Marianne’s imaginative and prescient to the viewers.”
