Carl Ballton, Notable Philanthropist and Community Leader, Passes Away – Los Angeles Sentinel

The latest passing of Deacon Carl Ballton has deeply touched the larger Los Angeles group.  A well known philanthropist and civic chief, Carl was beloved and admired by many for his dedication to uplifting the L.A.’s Black group.

Carl served as a senior vice chairman at Union Financial institution in addition to president and CEO of the MUFG Union Financial institution Basis. On this capability, he carried out the charitable contribution insurance policies and initiatives of each the financial institution and the inspiration.

Within the space of group service, Carl was a member of a number of company advisory boards together with the United Negro School, the Larger Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity of Larger Los Angeles, Valley Financial Improvement Heart, and the Native Initiatives Assist Company (LISC) in Los Angeles.  Additionally, Carl chaired the Deacon Board and Brotherhood Group at West Angeles Church of God in Christ.

For the previous a number of years, Carl and his spouse, Dr. Lula Ballton, referred to as the Atlanta, Georgia space dwelling, but they each remained lively and concerned within the Los Angeles space the place that they had resided for years.  Carl and Dr. Lula Ballton noticed their fifty fifth wedding ceremony anniversary in Nov. 2024.  They’re the mother and father of three grownup kids.

The ultimate viewing of his stays is on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 3 p.m. to eight p.m. at Murray Brothers Funeral Dwelling in Atlanta. A celebration of his life is about for Thursday, Feb. 27, at 11 a.m., at Cascade United Methodist Church, 3144 Cascade Highway in in Atlanta.
