EBONY Outside: Super Bowl LIX (Live Updates)

Tremendous Bowl LIX is right here, and there’s no higher place to have fun than New Orleans—a metropolis with deep Black cultural roots and a historical past of internet hosting unforgettable occasions. This week is buzzing with power, not only for the large sport but in addition for Carnival season, making it a very thrilling time to be on the town. From homegrown locals to guests anticipating a style of New Orleans’ signature taste, the town is alive with activations, celebrations and an simple spirit.

EBONY is on the bottom, tapping into the heartbeat of the second—highlighting Black-led occasions, cultural touchpoints and every thing occurring in actual time main as much as Tremendous Bowl Sunday. Keep locked in for updates as we seize the essence of NOLA’s Black excellence on the intersection of sports activities, music and tradition.

The street to Tremendous Bowl LIX is formally underway in New Orleans, and the town wasted no time bringing the power. Tremendous Bowl Opening Night time set the tone for the week’s festivities, with the Philadelphia Eagles making a grand entrance into the Caesars Superdome. Welcomed by the electrifying sounds of St. Augustine’s Marching 100, the powerhouse marching band delivered a rousing efficiency, completely capturing the town’s wealthy musical heritage and setting the stage for the NFC champions as they gear up for the large sport.

Gentle Present Dazzles Jackson Sq. at Opening Night time

A spectacular, first-of-its-kind mild present is radiating throughout Jackson Sq. in New Orleans each evening main as much as the large sport. The opening evening was a spectacle, that includes projections of fireworks, historic landmarks, and different visually hanging photos forged throughout St. Louis Cathedral, the Cabildo, and the Presbytère. Onlookers soaked within the show whereas carrying beads, indulging in avenue meals, and celebrating in true New Orleans vogue.
