Adventurer trekking across Africa on foot reaches Cape Town

Japanese adventurer Gump Suzuki, 34, has been trekking via Africa for the previous seven months, pushing a rickshaw along with his ultimate objective being to succeed in Cape City. He arrived in South Africa on 28 December, and is now stress-free within the Mom Metropolis earlier than heading again to Japan on the finish of the month.

Suzuki is a tour information from Tokyo and has already trekked throughout a number of continents. These embody Asia, Europe, Australia, and North America, earlier than his journey throughout Africa. Suzuki began his journey in Kenya in June 2024 and has since travelled via Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana, and Namibia.

Markedly, his journey has captured the eye of over 500 000 followers on TikTok, the place he shares updates and reflections from the street.

‘I needed to journey 5 continents with my rickshaw,’ Suzuki stated. ‘Cape City felt like the proper vacation spot, not just for the unimaginable journey however to unfold a message of hope and positivity to everybody I meet alongside the best way.’

Suzuki is planning on spending a number of days in Cape City earlier than heading again to Japan on 31 January.

Suzuki’s journey has undoubtedly had its ups and downs. He was concerned in an accident with a truck in Zambia, which ended up damaging his rickshaw. Fortunately, he was unhurt and had his rickshaw fastened at a motorbike store.

They don’t find the money for for meals, and I needed to assist,’ he stated.
