Rhode Island college students raise over $24K to help security guard visit his family in Nigeria

College students at Windfall School in Rhode Island have made a safety guard’s needs come true after they raised over $24,000 to assist him journey again to Nigeria to go to his son and different relations.

In accordance with WCVB, James, who the scholars described as their favourite individual, has not seen his household in 11 years. The scholars finally determined to arrange the GoFundMe after they grew to become conscious of that. And due to their effort, James now has the chance to lastly go to his household in Nigeria.

“You instructed us some time in the past that you just wished to see your loved ones in Nigeria that you just haven’t seen in a very long time, so we got here collectively and unfold the phrase, and we began a GoFundMe as a result of we deal with our personal as a result of that’s what we do at Windfall School,” sophomore pupil Daniel Singh mentioned. 

“They’ve finished that for me, we’ve finished that for one another, so now we’re doing it for you. You’re of the household, so our present to you is a visit to Nigeria.”

Brandon Reichert, who’s a freshman pupil, additionally showered praises on James, saying that he’s “simply the kindest soul anybody has ever met on this constructing.”

“He means a lot to us he’s so essential,” Reichert added. “It was superb how briskly everybody related and have been in a position to put it collectively for him.”

Over $24,000 had been raised for James on the time of this report. Reichert and Singh instructed WCVB they goal to lift as a lot as attainable in order that James visiting his household again in Nigeria isn’t a once-in-a-blue-moon incidence. 

“Tears to my eyes. Such an act of kindness. It was such an awesome reminder of the nice our Friars are bringing into the world and an awesome reminder of how we are able to all do a small act of kindness each day that may make a distinction,” Dean of College students Sean Sears mentioned.
