When you gaze as much as the skies over the Western Cape shoreline, there’s a great opportunity you’ll spot marine conservation photographer Jean Tresfon flying overhead.
Tresfon has been taking to the air for a number of years now, bringing these followers of his Fb web page award-winning pictures taken from his trusty gyrocopter.
When you’re not already considered one of his 60 000 followers, we strongly recommend you achieve this.
On his most up-to-date tour on Tuesday, Tresfon photographed three orcas close to Robben Island – together with a mom (photographed) and two calves.
He added that one other seven orcas had been reportedly noticed only some miles away.

Tresfon wrote: “Growth! Yesterday was particular past the telling of it… An opportunity encounter with three orcas close to Robben Island, together with this mom and calf pair. They raced by the soiled water on a mission to hitch up with the remainder of their pod (we discovered later that there have been one other seven orcas a couple of miles away). The #mothercity at all times delivers!”
