UMG to Pull Music by Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Drake, and More from TikTok Following Failed Disputes Over Money

Common Music Group is threatening to drag the music of a number of of its recording artists from TikTok. UMG shared an open letter on Jan. 30 saying its resolution to name for a “day trip” with the social media platform over failed contract negotiations.

The contract between TikTok and UMG expires at midnight on Jan. 31, and the music firm claims TikTok shouldn’t be paying “acceptable compensation” for his or her artists and songwriters. The corporate additionally claimed that the social media platform doesn’t do sufficient to guard its artists from AI.
