Boston’s Premiere Performing Arts Center Celebrates the African American Experience With a Compilation of Poetry, Dance, Music and Scenes

Nationwide — OrigiNation Cultural Arts Middle – pioneers of revolutionary and dynamic performing arts applications that encourage, problem, and encourage youth to be the perfect they are often – will host Our Story! Celebrating the African American Expertise on Saturday, February 17, 2024, begins at 7:00 p.m. on the Strand Theater at 543 Columbia Highway, Dorchester, MA. All are invited to attend a personal costume rehearsal on Tuesday, February 13, for a singular sneak peek of the manufacturing and to fulfill this dynamic forged.

OrigiNation, beneath the course of its Founding Creative Director and famend choreographer Shaumba Yandje Dibinga, is proud to current Our Story, a singular and highly effective efficiency that celebrates the wealthy historical past and tradition of African and African American folks. Our Story is a compilation of poetry, dance, music, and scenes from historic and present occasions which have formed and outlined the African and African American expertise. The performances will function proficient college students from native faculties, excessive faculties, and center faculties, in addition to OrigiNation’s personal Skilled Dance Division. Shaumba-Yandje Dibinga oversees the operations of all of OrigiNation’s applications. Ms. Dibinga has in depth coaching and over 30 years of instructing and efficiency expertise in African, faucet, hip-hop, swing, gospel, ballet, step, trendy, and jazz. She acquired dance coaching on the Boston Conservatory and the Alvin Ailey College and is a former principal dancer and choreographer for Ebony Inspiration and a former Boston All Metropolis Dance Firm member. She is a trustee on the Boston Renaissance Constitution Public College and earned her B.A. in Africana Research from the College of Massachusetts Boston.

AboutEstablished in 1994 by Creative Director Shaumba-Yandje Dibinga, OrigiNation, Included is a 501(c)(3) non-profit group that produces revolutionary and dynamic performing arts applications that encourage, problem, and encourage youth to be the perfect they are often. We provide high quality dance, theater arts, and African historical past schooling.
