Man Exonerated for Malcolm X’s Murder Sues FBI for $40M Alleging Agency Concealed Identities of True Murderers

An 85-year-old man who was exonerated for the homicide of civil rights activist Malcolm X is suing the FBI on allegations that the company hid proof of the onetime Nation of Islam chief’s precise killers and proof of his innocence.

The $40 million lawsuit filed by Muhammad Aziz alleges that the Federal Bureau of Investigation, together with then-Director J. Edgar Hoover, “deliberately precipitated the presentation of false proof towards…hid a trove of proof…and orchestrated essentially unfair authorized proceedings towards Mr. Aziz.”

He claims the company engineered this cover-up to guard and protect “the scope, nature, and actions” of its counterintelligence operations whereas concurrently weakening the civil rights motion.

At Hoover’s behest, the FBI’s Counterintelligence Program, often known as COINTELPRO, enabled brokers to infiltrate U.S. political and social actions.
