The last of the 121 Nigerian pupils kidnapped by bandits released after 800 days in captivity

After enduring 800 days in captivity, Treasure Ayuba, a pupil at Bethel Baptist Excessive College in Kaduna, has lastly been let out by his captors.

He was among the many 121 pupils kidnapped throughout a tragic assault by native bandits on July 5, 2021. Over time, these outlaws have been progressively releasing the kidnapped pupils, and Treasure is the final amongst them to regain his freedom.

Governor Uba Sani’s spokesperson, Mohammed Shehu, in an announcement issued on Saturday, stated the federal government was excited on the launch of the final kidnapped pupil.

He expressed gratitude to all those that had been concerned in securing the pupil’s launch and reaffirmed the federal government’s dedication to enhancing safety within the state. He added that his focus will likely be to make sure the security of all instructional establishments, as reported by Premium Instances.

“The launched pupil was among the many 121 kids who had been kidnapped by bandits in July 2021 from their college premises in Maraban Damishi, Chikun Native Authorities Space of Kaduna State. Treasure Ayuba has since been reunited together with his family members,” in accordance with the assertion.

Israel Akanji, the President of the Nigeria Baptist Conference, expressed deep gratitude to God for the discharge of Treasure. His protected return residence on November 2, 2023, was met with joyful reward and due to God.

Following the preliminary abduction, a couple of month later, the criminals launched 100 out of the 121 kidnapped college students, reportedly after their mother and father paid an undisclosed ransom. The remaining college students had been launched in a number of teams over time.

On September 23, the Nigerian Police introduced the arrest of three people from a gang concerned within the kidnapping of the pupils. The police spokesperson, Frank Mba, recognized the suspects as Ishaku Lawal, Muazu Abubakar, and Adam Bello.

Kaduna, together with a lot of Nigeria’s North-west area, has been affected by a ten-year-long insecurity disaster as a result of terrorist teams concentrating on rural communities, vacationers, and colleges. This ongoing battle has resulted in thousands and thousands of casualties, together with fatalities, kidnappings, and displacements.

The Chikun Native Authorities space in Kaduna State is notably one of many areas severely affected by this insecurity.
