MALIBU, Calif. — Chicago Bears legend and NFL Corridor of Famer Dick Butkus has died on the age of 80.

The linebacker spent his complete profession with the Bears after being drafted by the group in 1965, making eight Professional Bowls. He was named to the Professional Soccer Corridor of Fame in 1979, his first 12 months of eligibility.

His household introduced Thursday that the previous linebacker died “peacefully in his sleep.” He’s survived by his spouse, Helen, and three kids.
