With August being Black Enterprise Moth, Nordstrom is utilizing its platform to focus on Black companies throughout the nation. The luxurious retailer not too long ago hosted a dialog with Black entrepreneurs, together with: Harlem’s Style Row, The Folklore Group, Christina Funke Tegbe of 54 Thrones and Moya Annece & Ashley Cimone, Co-Founders of ASHYA.

In 2022, Nordstrom began their Black Enterprise Month program that featured #BuyBlack pop-up markets. The aim was to focus on a particular curation of native Black companies, together with spotlighting the Black-owned or based manufacturers which are carried within the retailer’s year-round providing. The optimistic response and robust assist from prospects efficiently drove $14 million in gross sales of Black-owned or based manufacturers at Nordstrom in August 2022 alone.
The 2023 #BuyBlack pop-up markets are being expanded to 13 Nordstrom shops. The Fifteen % Pledge curating invited native companies to pop up in 11 cities all through the month together with New York, Atlanta, Charlotte, Durham, Houston, Washington DC, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle and Miami.
