Thousands overwhelm Union Square for streamer giveaway, tossing chairs and pounding cars

NEW YORK (AP) — A crowd of 1000’s that packed Manhattan’s Union Sq. for a preferred livestreamer’s hyped giveaway bought out of hand Friday afternoon, with some within the crowd clambering on automobiles, hurling chairs and throwing punches, leaving police struggling to rein within the chaos.
