9-Year-Old Boy Crashes Into Police Car After Taking Mother’s Car

“Sorry! I am simply making an attempt to get to high school.”

A 9-year-old boy in California took the keys to the household automobile and determined to drive himself to high school. After main a police officer on a quick chase, he ended up hitting his patrol automobile.

In response to a Fb publish from the California Freeway Patrol in Oroville, a police officer with the freeway patrol unit noticed a grey Volkswagen stopped in the course of an intersection on March 27 at round 9:20 a.m. After the officer instructed the driving force to maneuver, the driving force did simply that and sped off. The officer pursued the automobile and caught up with the Volkswagen in a car parking zone close to Plumas Avenue Elementary College.

After the driving force stopped the automobile, he reversed into the patrol automobile, inflicting minor harm to it.

When the police officer noticed who was driving, he was shocked to see a 9-year-old boy on the wheel.

In response to CBS Information Sacramento, it was CHP Oroville Officer Terry Dunn who adopted the automobile. He admitted that he couldn’t see the driving force. “Startled, I didn’t know at that time what was going to occur,” mentioned Dunn.

As soon as he did see the driving force, the 9-year-old caught his head out the window and mentioned, “Sorry! I’m simply making an attempt to get to high school.”

Fortunately, nobody was injured, although the boy’s grandmother mentioned she went right into a panic when she realized he was not in the home. She mentioned that his mom was within the toilet and he was in the lounge. When she got here out of the lavatory, he wasn’t there, and her keys and automobile had been lacking.

“By the grace of God, [Dunn] got here as much as the intersection and noticed my grandson in the course of the intersection,” the boy’s grandmother expressed to CBS Information Sacramento.

Officer Dunn contacted the boy’s mom and the right authorities and allowed the boy to go to high school.
